Know More About CBD

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main cannabinoids naturally occurring in the hemp plant. It is the most abundant non-psychoactive cannabinoid in hemp/cannabis, commonly used as a dietary supplement to support overall health. No prescription is needed to purchase CBD products. U.S. Scientists, health professionals, medical patients have used CBD-rich products to treat a wide range of conditions – chronic pain, cancer, Crohn’s, diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, PTSD, cardiovascular disease, anxiety, antibiotic-resistant infections, multiple sclerosis, schizophrenia, and more.

What is CBG?

CBG is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid that has been found to act on very specific physiological systems and problems, and results for medicinal use are promising such as the following: glaucoma, inflammatory bowel disease, Huntington’s disease, cancer and more.

Full spectrum hemp extract with CBD, unlike CBD isolate (ISO) products, includes a wide range of cannabinoids present in the hemp plant. Full spectrum hemp extract also contains a variety of essential vitamins, minerals, fatty acids, protein, chlorophyll, terpenes, flavonoids, and fiber.

Depending on your condition and what you are looking to achieve by taking CBD, full spectrum can provide a greater effect than CBD alone as all the cannabinoids work together in what is known as the entourage effect.

The entourage effect is the main reason behind the efficacy of whole plant extracts. There are over 180 identified compounds in the cannabis plant. While most of these compounds have their own therapeutic benefit, they combine to provide a far better performance than any single compound, including CBD.

The fact remains that everyone is different and will react differently to their CBD dosage. What you will find below is meant to be a guideline, a starting point of reference. As a serving size or dosage of CBD differs for each person, it is best to start small and gradually increase until you experience the desired result.

Other CBD stores and individual brands create a lot of confusion for consumers because they all have different standards. Many of them recommend way too much as a “serving” and others recommend too little. Because of this lack of standard during our review of individual CBD products, Second and Seed’s Serving standard is to make things simple.

Second and Seed’s Serving Standard

A standard beginner’s serving is approximately 25mg of CBD taken twice a day.

A therapeutic serving is approximately 50mg of CBD/CBG taken twice to three times a day.

These can be adjusted up or down according to individual needs.
